The future seems upon us and after ourselves in San Diego witnessing first hand the power of foiling technology in the kite arena, it was only a matter of time before Foiling windsurfing made a true debut to the market. The popularity of competitive sailing has increased dramatically in the eyes of the public when the America’s Cup boats were capable of foiling and sailing sometimes even close to double the wind reaching speeds of 44.57kts (55mph) as was the case in 2013 by the Emirates New Zealand team. A big congratulations to our very own SDWA member Xavier GBR451 for winning the Ronstan Bridge to Bridge race in San Francisico Formula division. The Ronstan Bridge to Bridge Race is a multicraft downwind sprint from the Golden Gate Birdge to the Bay Bridge on San Francisco Bay. The food was plenty, with 4 entries for the Chili contest. Winner was: “Dawn Patrol” although, Mike’s “El Miguel” hot chili was a close second place. There was not a drop left of any chili by 2pm. We had plenty of Chicken legs from Aliza and David’s recipe, salads, and last deserts. The turn out very one of … Read More »
