Decent conditions were bestowed on a few lucky sailors at Tourmaline yesterday the 6th of March. Winds while everyone was rigging was upwards of 20mph due to a nice Santa Ana breeze coming around Mount Soledad and compressing itself as it came around the point and got sucked into Mission Bay. Conditions by the time everyone hit the water were around 13-16mph with waves that were 2-3ft in size and relatively soft in shape. Luckily enough Chuck Mo. was there to document our experience so big thanks for taking his time to take the video and edit it all together!!

It’s been quite a quiet winter this year. Not many storms to speak of and today we stand on the eve before the first promising South Wind event. After about a month of waiting for wind after the last run of wind around the Holidays, the last few weeks have been full of some pretty decent Windsurfing here in San Diego. Here are some of the photos and videos that I (Dan S) took or others that were sent to me. I encourage all members to document any sessions that they feel are noteworthy and submit them to me to be showcased on the website.

Although San Diego has shut down for the season for most sailors, there have been a few moments of bliss to be had at our local wave spot Tourmaline. A few Santa Ana days have lit up an otherwise quiet and uneventful fall and for those who were there on those days we have had some decent surf and marginal++ winds. Here are a few pictures and a video of the Tourmo crew doing there thing. I do apologize for the picture quality, they were all shot with my phone with only digital zoom which sorta trashed the quality.

Logo to mast high sets were steam rolling their way from the point all the way down through to the El Faro Adventure Resort and beyond. It was lining up to be a special day. Bernd Roediger, Morgan Noireaux, Levi Siver, and Kevin Pritchard were set for an epic showdown. They were battling for the top 2 positions to see who would square off in the man on man Final. Check out some of the awesome wave-sailing action!
